Banksy on Advertising.

Maxime Beldent typo cotton pins.

future trend prediction

The cupcake phase - which saw brands such as Peyton & Byrne cashing in on cute saccharine colours and individual bite sized cupcakes, is dying. Lola's, Hummingbird, Cox and a million others have been ringing the tills with people going cup cake crazy. But it's summer, and something new is needed. I have been giving it some thought and have decided it's
JELLY.
I can imagine pop up jelly bars, individual glittery pots to take out and all different layered flavours, jelly is so easy, you can stick anything in it (watch it) fruit, booze, candles.. whatever.
Watch this space, someone cash me up and i'll launch 'wibble wobble' and we'll make a mint.

The photos below are all home made - no one is selling anything like it in shops anywhere. The closest i've seen is Pret who stick theirs in a pot with a few raspberries.

i love my kitchen.

mad michelberger berlin

Without a shadow - the coolest most bonkers hotel I've ever had the pleasure to stay in, .hotel website  ...recently voted No.3 in Time Outs top 50 cool European hotels, Michelberger has now launched their own booze..I'm not sure about the packs but I love everything about this crazy hotel so it's worth a post. I absolutely recommend a blast on their mad website and a peep at the gallery of uber cool kids in Berlin!

bath pool

Imagine if you will - a real life swimming pool that looks like a bath. After extensive internet research at lunchtime today I conclude that one does not exist. What a shame - someone should turn Brockwell Lido in to a bath with big silver taps, and a floating yellow duck.

neon kingsX

The following statement is inaccurate in terms of tourist information: "KINGS CROSS IS THE CENTRE OF LONDON." It is accurate however - for me, I must pass through it most days on the way to work, to see friends or to visit one of the great restaurants & bars in the area - Camino, The Booking Office, DrinkShopDo, The Fellow, Black Door Bar, erm McDonalds? I could go on.... Anyway last night a giant neon cage was lifted into the Sky over St Pancras, I don't know why I did read it  but it was boring, all I know is that by day it sails gently down to the floor where you can get inside and have a swing on the erm... swing. By night it's a beautiful beacon of what is good about London. What a treasure. It's here for 2 years apparently so get swinging!

The Booking office in all it's lovely posh glory:

Oh dear  - there appears to be a stumbling drunk tramp leaning against the door - but trust me, it's very nice.

Baubau Haus

This website is excellent - an online emporium of great illustration, type and photography. Here's what the founders say about it - "Baubauhaus is here to feed your daily need of design, illustration, photography, fashion and of all else art-related. Our goal is to visually inspire and entertain by promoting great content. It can be anything from your bookmark of images made by others (us), a trend, you - we call it Baubauhaus. Now if you think you are good enough to be featured on Baubauhaus or you have a friend who is better than you or you just got a favorite artist you would like to share with us, drop us an email at hey@baubauhaus.com Note: don’t be sure you’ll be featured on our wall. What is cool for you could be uncool for us.

this is just a rock.

this is just a rock. with loads of sparkly squiny things glued on to it but I LOVE IT.
See? I've gone girly-mental. Really quite up for a girls afternoon tea at mine glueing sparkles on to random shizzle - Neil get ready for sparkling jewel saucepans!

phenomenal film.

Pinterest.

a-bloody-'nother-thing-to-look-at - that I haven't got time for.
Pinterest is an online scrapbook of sorts where you can store and share images you find on the internet, it's actually pretty useful for me to store things to use at work for mood boards but as nothing you do counts or even actually even occurred unless someone knows about it, liked it and then followed you, it follows all the same guidelines as facebook and twitter so everyone can find out which photos of cushions I'm collecting. jeeez.. 'I'm tweeting to tell you that I blogged" etc. AND don't get me started on google circles. what is this sorcery? Google is now trying to hook me up with people I know through some sort of weird portal and I don't want a thing to do with it.

Back to Pinterest, and exhale....
I've been pinning on Pinterest sporadically for ages, due to an endless barrage of invites to 'pin' from my friends and colleagues.
Feel free to scrutinise my pins at (http://pinterest.com/jessicawrightuk/ ) if you so wish, I only do an update about every 6 months though so I wouldn't bother.. my board 'cake up my bum' is probably* the highlight with a measly 3 pins of photos of crap cupcakes. you get the gist.
* I said probably.

Here's my google+ circle witchcraft page - no friends and no messages, wonder why.

Gerrard has gone`!

My beautiful, beautiful duck Gerrard has gone - I left him on the train from Cambridge to Kings Cross last night and someone has nabbed him- quack.  As he is very distinctive chap if you see him about town you can rest assured that it's (probably) my Gerrard and therefore please attack without reserve and return him to my arm. sad times he hardly got wet :(

NotInHouse. Talk this Thursday.

I won't lie - this may well be booked up, (word about all the free booze us designers are guzzling has broken) but email Keely@notinhouse.com to get on the reservation list incase anyone can't make it. This months guest speaker is David Pearson. See you there.

pretty things.

what's up with me? Might have to wear black top to toe tomorrow to get over this weird girly phase I'm in. anyway here are some pink things with flowers and glitter. sheesh!

I just had to remove a couple of flower pictures it was too much even for me.

PICK ME UP.

Pick Me Up is back at Somerset House - an excellent and affordable art fair, with contemporary cheap prints to snap up and 'have a go' bits and bobs. Artist in residence last year was Rob Ryan which was great as he's a personal favourite and I got to see him cutting out tiny fiddly bits of paper LIVE!  tickets are still available to buy starts 22nd...

Nike celebrate 40 years of their iconic swoosh.

40 years ago Nike began its history of exploiting people by underpaying its graphic designer who was paid a tiny fee of $38 for this logo. today it's one of the most recognized brands in the world. Hmmph.  see you in court.
