Here's my lovely friend Dan and his brilliant dog Snippy. Snippy gave Dan and his girlfriend Becca (pictured with The Snipster below) the idea to open Victoria Bark, a dog grooming and pet supplies store in - Victoria Park! Leaving their design studios behind and replacing marker pens and pads with doggy bones and combs they have taken the big leap of starting their own business. Grand opening this week - I wish them loads of luck and say a big thank you to the three of them for leaving the bottle of bubbles behind the bar at my birthday party.x

COMMENT
Here's the old pack design for Walkers SunBites, (remarkable crisps, rubbish branding.)
This week saw the launch of their new pack, a Frankenstein mishmash of at least three concepts as far as I can tell.
Concept 1: watercolour, lovely sunshiney logo with some mad crisps flying off the edges, could have been a real stand out pack on shelf if only they'd stuck to this singular idea... Nice hand drawn branding too.
Concept 2: Let's integrate the product and ingredient shot and add some quirkiness to our descriptor, again, not very original and considering there's generally only one ingredient - pretty boring, but would nevertheless could have been an adequate move on.
Concept 3: A completely disjointed illustration style to everything else on pack. Generic wheat and butterfly composition. I can picture the brief landing on the designers desk requesting ' a bit from each concept'. Finally being asked to sling a few flashes in each corner - messy and RUBBISH.

This event is completely sold out because it's so brilliant and was only intended as a short run - it's coming back for another massive bonanza edition later in the summer. In the meantime get on the good ship Bordello which features lots of the same acts and cruises up and down the Thames and is almost, almost as good as BOOM BOOM club.

Whoop. This book arrived this morning, it's so interesting, compiled from your facebook account - it breaks down various chunks of information into beautifully executed statistical graphics. Including a page of thumbnails of every single fb friend, providing a great aidé-memoire for years to come.
I take far too many pictures of Hanna evidently.

Robin is still META tagging, but the initial site is live, so excited.
Using the idea of telling a story through copy on the business cards, back of pack and website.
Robin and our clever coder made artwork and website work beautifully. Good team.

Rough development work and choosing a name...
3/4 shrink - (proved too expensive for a start out company - but something certain for the future design)
moved onto PSL with screen printed white, leaving areas of the design clear to see the liquid through.
I hated this name - no idea why it was chosen to look at.
