Party tonight! wohoo.
There's only two squares* on this poster that I'd raise a glass to but it's Craig's 30th so fair enough.

Shoes at Saddlers Wells/

COMMENT,
DESIGN EVENTS
I saw this tonight with a friend and it is fantastic, though if someone had told me about the first five minutes of jazz hands and tap I would have never gone. Shoes is however, for the most part - utterly brilliant, really sexy and also at times actually laugh out loud funny. My top performances were; the 3 bed scene which was a dimly lit stage with 3 rout iron bed frames and three really hot women writhing about accompanied by one equally hot man dancing about in a lady gaga allehandro-esque 5 minute sex scene-a-thon!
There is also a male dancer who does his own freestyle contemporary dance to show his love for a pair of adidas trainers (weird but good) to the The Roots - How I Got Over, (I think that's the track name) which is a funny coincidence as someone was talking to me about them just the other day. I don't know anything about dance but I'd say it was a mix of ballet and breakdancing, really graceful but totally gritty.
But the whole show should have been about one part in particular - the wedding frame scene, which was a bride and groom dancing inside a giant metal picture frame which they walked up the walls of, upside down while it was turning on stage. There were few lyrics to the backing music which is why I liked it, the whole 'story' was played out in a few minutes of unbelievable dance. I'm crap with words at the best of times as my job is all about aesthetic and every day I get less and less articulate - but if you want to take someone to something really different - then go to this.
(note there are some really cringey too over the top camp bits between the good parts)
Decided to seek out some sort of Imelda Marcos museum (there must be one surely) while in Manila and also ditch the beautiful but crippling shoes I wore tonight. x

I've had to delete all the branding and other graphics because this is sort of current work - albeit a route which isn't being developed... anyway. I might quit design and become a visualizer, I love it!

I am fortunate enough to not only have an amazing job in a lovely building but also for it to be next to a great place called DRINK SHOP & DO.
Two lovely girls Kristie and Coralie quit their 9-5 city jobs and put everything they had into opening the shop as a temporary pop up last year and after convincing the bank that it was a viable proposition, opened the doors last Christmas as a full time business. Everything is for sale at Drink Shop & Do: from designer crafts, vintage tea sets, 1950's dressers and unusual tables and chairs, to hand-made cakes, ice creams, specialty teas, kitsch finger sandwiches, bottled beers and cocktails. They also host special events each week such as 'scrabble and knitting' night, crazy hat tea parties and loads of hands on craft activities which require no skill whatsoever. I often pop in for a cocktail or two with the girls from our studio to find that we're presented with a chunk of clay and told that it's 'Michael Jackson Clay night'! Brilliant.
Here's my pals and I at the Pumpkin carving cocktail evening last October.
Today they delivered a big box of cakes to me at wonderlandWPA just because they'd made far too much! amazing.

Jamie Hewlett – the artist behind Tank Girl and Gorillaz – visited Bangladesh with Oxfam, to see for himself how climate change is already costing lives.
I've got a new friend and un.be.liev.ably he likes Tank Girl which is probably my most favouirte thing in the world. He's even let me have one of his old illustrated vinyl...
amazing!
I was fortunate enough to work with Jamie Hewlett's-girlfriends-sister so I've managed to get loads of my old Deadline magazines signed which I'm wondering if I'm going to have to offer up as a swap. mayyybbbeeeeeeee.!
Jamie Hewlett - I'd marry him in a minute.
The experience inspired a series of watercolours, limited edition prints of which are now available to buy at; http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/ethical-collection-jamie-hewlett

Robin
Robin is my muse. By that I mean he a-muses me.
I take at least one photo of him a week, usually wearing my hair clips or something and I drive him up the wall, but he bloody loves it. He also exclusively only wears Paul Smith, Penguin and other brilliantly chosen pieces so he can get away with the odd girly accessory.
Some recent snaps...
DO YOU WANT A NEW HAT ROBIN?

This is Jane Trustman. I clearly remember us cracking up down in the basement of
Smith & Milton where we were both doing placements and saying
'no one is EVER going to be mad enough to give us a job'
Now look at her being all amazing. And I got a job at S&M shortly after. Success!

Diamond Shreddies

COMMENT
I BLOODY LOVE THIS SO MUCH!
From a campaign Ogilvy Canada did for Kraft foods Shreddies cereal. Everyone knows Shreddies,
I had some this morning which reminded me to blog about this. Shreddies are a bit boring - they are square, they are dry and they are pretty plain tasting and marketing them in a new and exciting way was a tough brief.
Ogilvy and Kraft launched a 'new product' called ‘Diamond Shreddies’ with a massively increased perceived value - simply by turning the Shreddie/Shreddy whatever on it's side on pack.. They actually achieved significant sales of these ‘New’ Diamond Shreddies.
Kraft even did a series of consumer tasting sessions and unbelievably during research many people actually believed Diamond Shreddies taster far superior to the original boring square Shreddies!
Love it.
Ogilvy Diamond Shreddies ad.
This is the whole talk by Sutherland from Ogilvy on Intangible Value which is really interesting...

Other recent silliness from Fallon London for the new Wispa duo ( two halfs of the same thing in one pack) The bar has a retail price of 68p, which is 18p more expensive than a regular Wispa but for the same amount..
"The light-hearted campaign, created by Fallon, will ask consumers whether they prefer the right or the left of the two bars.
The campaign comprises a mix of outdoor and targeted online activity, starting from Monday.
Additionally, consumers can also go to the Wispa Facebook page to let other Wispa fans know which side bar they favour and to find out if others agree."
